When conducting a survey, there may be instances where you need to filter interviewees that do not meet the survey criteria. In Dharma, you can do this by turning on the ejection button for certain answers to disable users from continuing with the survey.

For example, let’s say you are conducting a household survey and only households that meet certain criteria should be interviewed. At the very beginning of the interview process, you read out the Consent Form to the interviewee.

Then the very first question asks, “Did the head of household agree to participate?” If the interviewee has not read the consent form, he cannot continue with the survey and you would want to stop the survey there. To enable this, click on the triangle button on the far right side next to ‘No’.

You will get the following pop-up message:

Click ‘OK’, and you will see that the color of the triangle has turned to red.

You have now turned on the ejection button for the answer ‘No’ to the question ‘Did you read the consent form?’.

Now let’s take a look at the mobile app:

When you click ‘No’ to the question ‘Did you read the consent form?’, you will get a pop-up message confirming that you want to continue with this answer:

If you click ‘Continue’, user gets ejected from the survey and the form is now complete.

Did this answer your question?
